| With long golden hair, lilac eyes and a kind smile, the Crown Princess of Ekalyon is hailed as an ideal heiress, ever so concerned about her people's well being and her kingdom's affairs. But people see what we want them to see, and most are so invested in the idea of who Victoire is that they fail to notice the cunning, calculating and devious mind hiding underneath.

She smiles and teases and plays, but beware of her amber eyes and her persuasive voice, for Phoebe wants nothing but to tempt you into ruin.

| Bright, cheerful and charismatic, the only daughter of House von Angniend is a well-loved figure of society- just not that of her own country. Growing up between Aurelis and Tellius, she shares more traits with these nations than her native Ralion. Too expressive, too open, too carefree to fit into the standards of sobriety and propriety of Ralion's nobility, they say. She pays them no mind, dismissing their opinions with a shrug: she's Myrcella von Angniend, and she'd be unhappy being anything less than who she is.

King Len and Queen Sophie's only child, Princess Victoire was born with the the weight of the world on her shoulders: the nobility had not forgotten the queen's actions in the Fourth Magic War, nor the role the Artwaltz played in the War of the Great Houses. Most expected the new royal to be like so many others of her mother's bloodline: ambitious, ruthless, manipulative, evil. That her grandparents were heroes did little to assuage such concerns.
They were right, though not in the way they imagined: she wasn't an Ilianora, a Hyraiel or a Caielle, but a Regnor, an Aedric and a Sathine- ambitious, manipulative and ruthless when required, yes, but whose hearts and loyalties were in the right place. A beautiful, seemingly angelic child, Victoire learned early on how to use her appearance to her advantage, charming those around her with sweet smiles and kind words, convincing them to do her biding. To her parent's horror, she did not feel any guilt in doing so, did not see what was so wrong with it or why they were so worried. But in time, she understood.
And for their sakes, Victoire acquiesced, albeit on her own terms. She'd keep the appearance and the mask of the kind, charitable and loving princess, but behind closed doors, with her friends and her trusted ones, she'd remain herself. Calculating, shrewd Victoire who longed for greatness, who navigated the shadows and secrets as well as her ancestors did and with an unparalleled lust for greatness.
But some secrets aren't meant to last forever, and the world has a way of breaking even the strongest masks.
LEN BRANTHÈSE Merely moments older than his twin sister, this would seal the fate of the future monarch of Ekalyon. Len was brought up to, one day, take his mother place as King of his nation - however, the same relentless fate still had plans for him, and such ascension would come sooner than expected, and at a price. Witness to the queen’s assassination, he had to face the fact that there still were a long way to go before he was able to fully inherit the throne. However, if fate would not be so kind, he could always be sure to find loyalty and good counsel from his wife, now Lady Sophie, to rule with dignity and righteousness. — luiza
CASSIAN ARTWALTZ As if his ancestor's nature found a good vessel on him, Cassian was all that his father wasn't: prideful, talented and merciless, to name a few. While a plague to the last Guardian of Darkness and a delight to his maternal grandmother, he would grow close to his cousin, no one but the royal princess, as soon as he saw in her the same wicked nature as his under the thin coat of loveliness and care. Holding back a secret that consumes him, only known by Victoire, Cassian plays a role he wasn't chosen to, and because of that the people he is supposed to protect pay the price. luiza
RAGNAR ARTWALTZ Inheriting his parents affinity for trouble and mischief, Ragnar distinguishes himself from them by his darker intentions and methods. His pranks are cruel and often dangerous, and he shows little - if any- guilty for those caught in the crossfire- if there's enough chaos, why should he? Those traits, as well as his uncanny ability to never get caught, led him to become close with his second-cousin, Crown Princess Victoire, acting as the doer of her dirty work and becoming her most loyal ally.
The youngest child born to the Duke of Farezze... And also his undisputed favourite. It's no surprise that Phoebe stole place which should have been her brother's: despite being both trained in the noble arts of politics, law and negotiation, there are lines Octavian won't ever cross, lines that, if given the incentive, Phoebe would. Much to their parent's relief, history wouldn't repeat itself and the siblings would grow up thick as thieves, each having the other's back. One day, Octavian would rise to be the estate's manager, and she would take up her father's mantle as the politician and negotiatior.
Despite being born in Aurelis, Phoebe spent most of her childhood away from home, travelling with her parents and seeing lands most people only hear about. Eventually, she chose to follow her brother's footsteps and attend one of Ekalyon's finest schools, albeit for different reasons: he wanted the experience of what a school was like, she wanted to meet new people and make allies. There Phoebe would meet her future lover, partner and husband, Maven. They begun as convenient partners, forming a tentative friendship which eventually turned into love.
But love doesn't always bring out the best in people. By his side, Phoebe's ambition, malice and ruthlessness grew, and the woman she turned into be is far darker than the girl ever was, as formidable as she's feared, every inch her father's daughter. Years later she's married to Maven, to whom she's not just a wife and lover, but an ally, an advisor and a partner, and by him has three children: Aldrich, Kaltain and Helyel.
ALDRICHT BARHSBURG vel vulputate justo eleifend quis. In dictum, eros eu sodales bibendum, elit massa tincidunt mi, eget vehicula dolor eros sed massa. In tincidunt sit amet elit eu ultrices
KALTAIN BARHSBURG Bruised fists, smeared dark red lipstick and smoky eyes, the only Barhsburg girl is unquestionably her father's daughter, sharing with him an aggressive and difficult temper. If anyone says her inclination for violence and brute force makes her any less of a girl, Kaltain will cheerily carve their eyeballs out and feed them to her dog. She loves the fashionable and the fancy, and she'll be damned to go anywhere without her high heels, make up and clothes from her favourite designer's latest collection. She'll not apologize for who she is, nor will her behaviour change to please anyone else.
HELYEL BARHSBURG vel vulputate justo eleifend quis. In dictum, eros eu sodales bibendum, elit massa tincidunt mi, eget vehicula dolor eros sed massa. In tincidunt sit amet elit eu
HENRY LENNOX With a glass of scotch in one hand a cigarette in the other, a different partner every night, amber eyes alight with malice and scars older deeper than anyone can fathom, Henry was the his family's great hope and their greatest disappointment. None of them can understand why the once bright child went down such a dark path, and he likes it this way— love, friendships and trust are weaknesses and liabilities. He trades in secrets and favours, moving pieces on his chessboard and manipulating events for his own amusements, destroying people over just because he can. A life of vice, sin and corruption to drown himself on and forget the raw pain.
ARIETTA LENNOX Strawberry blonde locks carefully arranged in a simple braid crown, pert nose held up high and green eyes dim and uncertain, so contrasting with her proud bearing. Arietta, more than anyone, is a victim of Henry's malice and cruelty, and a lifetime of being put down, humiliated and neglected by her parents have taken its toll on her. They love her, she knows they do. They're just more concerned about Henry. She currently lives with her grandparents, protected from her brother and trying pick up her broken pieces.
Lady Rheltia von Angniend never expected to have a child. Frail and sickly as she was, the doctors' consensus was that the chances of her carrying a pregnancy to term were minimal. In the end, it didn’t matter: her oldest sister, unprepared to be a mother, had given her firstborn to her and Rheltia had the son and heir she’d always longed for. Two years later, the young Lady would find herself pregnant again, and much to her joy and disbelief, her baby would survive.
Due to her mother’s work as a Diplomat, Myrcella grew up away from her native Ralion, spending her childhood and early teenage years between the Kingdoms of Tellius and Aurelis. Heavily influenced by their culture and customs, she’d distance herself from her homeland’s traditions to the point they were nothing but stifling and uncomfortable. Her parents did try to keep her within the Manor’s walls, to teach her why behaving as highborn lady of Ralion was important, but to no avail; if anything, the young girl grew even more rebellious, finding ways past security and to skirt her obligations. Rheltia, after a talk with her sister Erin, simply gave up and elected to send guards to accompany and keep an eye on her.
Myrcella’s love for clothing, shoes and jewelry developed into a love for fashion as a whole, and at age ten she asked her mother to learn sewing. With time she was drawing and making her own clothes and her aunt encouraged her to exhibit them online. People liked them, and after a year she was proud to have a loyal, if small, clientele. Her big break was pure luck and a little but of daring: her great-aunt, the woman who'd raised her father, died the day of the Ambassadors' Ball. Rheltia couldn't go, so her children would have to take her place. Myrcella didn't have the time to buy a new dress, but neither could she use one of her old ones in such an event. She'd been working on a gown for months, and it was her brother who suggested she wear it. After a brief argument, Myrcella agreed. Her dress was a big success and she was all too happy to provide her alias as the designer- soon she had orders, and Marielle Hëuttern became associated with quality and exclusivity- after all, she didn’t have the time to make all the commissions.
Roughly a year ago she attended one of Aurelis’s famous Carnevale Balls, for once indulging in drinking, and for that she doesn't remember much of the night itself, just that she danced until her feet were numb and that at some point she slipped to the gardens with a guy. She remembers making out with him until they were both breathless, but rules and magic kept them from sharing identities and contacts. By chance or fate, they’d meet again a week later through common friends, and have been dating ever since.
But Myrcella has always been more in love with the idea of them than with Darien himself, and she still longs for things he cannot give her.
FLORIAN DU'LISIEUX A son of Tellius's aristocracy, Florian was once the heir to the noble house of Du'Lisieux, a title he forsook the moment her decided to marry Rheltia von Angniend. His mother did not take kindly to the match. Sure, a von Angniend was all well and good, but an ill one doomed to die? Desirée wanted to spare him the pain. Florian did not listen to his mother, married the woman he loved and is quite happy with her and their two children. Desirée herself has long since made her peace with the match, thinking highly of Rheltia and spoiling her two grandchildren rotten.
ENDRIN VON ANGNIEND When Erin von Angniend first got pregnant, she could not envision herself as a mother. She was not prepared to settle down, to set aside her duties as the Red Huntress and raise a baby- but aborting it when her sister so desperately wanted a child of her own felt just as wrong. So Erin did the only thing she could: she had the child, and entrusted him to Rheltia. Endrin was raised as her son and heir, deeply cherished by the only parents he's ever known. And yet...For all the love he got, he could never stop himself from feeling inferior to his siter. Endrin believes he has something to prove, that he needs to be better than her to be worthy of being Rheltia and Florian's son.
ERIN VON ANGNIEND A well respected and high-ranking member of Ralion's military, Erin gave up any right she had to the von Angniend lands and titles upon defying her father and enlisting into the army. Cunning, loyal and efficient, she was King Alphonse's mentor and after much cajoling accepted the position of Royal Guard, settling down in Yermund for good. She'd eventually become the mother to another boy, Sigmund, though this time she kept him to raise as her own.
Chosen as the prison of an impossibly old and powerful being, Hyades is a world gone astray, forsaken by the gods, puzzling and unnerving to all but its inhabitants. Worse still was Carcosa, a city standing all too close to deity's prison, a place so forbidding and altogether wrong that all avoided its walls— except the sorcerers. In a land where magic was a sin, Carcosa was a safe heaven, as no country dared approach it and the sorcerers weren't as affected by the fallen titan's taint.
The Sorcerers were used to the strange, to the otherness, they lived and breathed it. And yet, when they pulled the child who would one day be known as Rowan out of her days dead mother's womb, the baby unnerved and scared even them. It was alive, alive and breathing, but it did not cry, it barely moved. Black eyes with crimson smoke swirling beneath looked at them, it reached out with the tips of its fingers dark as nightmare, neither a boy or a girl. It was a monster wearing an humanoid skin.
They didn't kill it, for as much as the child terrified them, it was something new in this world and should be preserved. To hide the upper half of her face, the most powerful sorcerers pooled their knowledge together to craft a mask with links to her wrists, restricting the child's movements and dampening the strangeness of its face. Then they locked it away like a bird in a cage, always watched, always guarded. It learned how to speak by mimicking others. And it sung— oh, it sung. Strange vowels and sounds unheard of.
At the beginning, it was barely conscious, it didn't think for itself- the child was but a fragment of its father, a vessel. But over the years it was caged, it listened. It learned. It developed a conscience and begun to doubt, to ask questions. And this was when the Four Lords decreed its release. The child was named Rowan, and they referred to her as she, though all knew she was neither. She didn' mind. Her adoptive mother was happy to have her, but the father, not so much, he was afraid she'd somehow corrupt his children.
And he was right. It was Rowan who drove an innocent boy down a very dark path, creating the being now known as The King in Yellow. Carcosa lost itself, and not even the sorcerers now dared venture into its walls. Rowan escaped, but she was eventually found by religious fanatics. Handed to Eiya'Arnosh's priests, she was tortured and experimented upon for years on end, and their cruelty became hers, too. No one was coming for her, no one cared— until someone heard her calling. Someone cared. Someone came. The Throne of Abyss saved Rowan, trained her to use her powers, and made her into her champion.
But she's still a vessel, still doomed to be her father's host. And Rowan does her goddess biding while searching for a way to save herself — and for her freedom, no price is too high, not even the lives and individuality of her own descendants.
